There are royal llama and its cousin the royal alpaca, which are heartier species compared to the gazelle-like guanaco, whose fleece is the second finest fiber, and delicate vicuna, a protected animal once reserved for Inca royalty that’s the ultimate in softness and shorn every two years on its high-altitude ranches where it roams free."
